Whats Wrong With ICICI Bank?

Hello Dudes, What is happening in ICICI Bank? I am really shocked about the incident happend on my ICICI Bank Transactions. For the past two months they are charging me some amount as Multi City Cheque clearance. I am sure none of my cheques passed at other cities..   But why ICICI Bank was charging me? When I asked them the reasons they just reverted me amount at once with our any reply. I Just got a msg to my personal mail that the amount has been reverted and should not reply to that mail since it is an auto genrated one. Please read the mail given below happened with me and ICICI Bank Customer service.

Hello,

This month also I see that some amount has been debited as multi city check dated  21/06/2008. I inquired locally where I issued the cheques and they told me the cheques are being passed only at local branches in salem. Please let me know the check numbers, with drawee and the place the cheque passed.

- I never faced this problem with my UTI bank when i issued to cheques same beneficiary.

Thanks,

—–Reply Separator——-Dear Mr. Kumar,

Kindly note that as per our records The amount of Rs. 56 was debited from your savings account on April 30, 2008 is towards the multicity charges for the month March 2008 including the Service Tax.

the Multi-city Cheque Payment charge is a charge for clearing a payable-at-par cheque at an outstation location i.e. outside your city

Multicity cheque payment charges upto Rs.50,000 is Rs.50 and later on the charges are Rs.1.75 per 1000 and Rs.1 for cheque amounts more than Rs.50,000

we had communicated the applicability of this charge through your March 2007 quarterly statement. Also, we had posted it at our web site www.icicbank.com and displayed it on the notice boards at our branches.

Hence we would be unable to reverse the charges.

Sincerely,

  1. Hey!

I noticed the same charge of Rs.56/- in my account today, although I’ve never issued an out-of-town cheque from my ICICI account till date. Raised an SR and awaiting a reply. Looks like a scam to me!

This is really terrible from ICICI Bank. ICICI should be taken to the Consumer Court for charging customers randomly. There is no such guideline from RBI.

  3. Dear Friend

ICICI Bank has a knack of trapping companies to have tie-up with their Bank for all employees accounts whereby employees will not have a choice to select their own Banker. Once you have opened the account, substantial but subtle service charges drama they play. They are no less notorius than Satyam [Ramalinga Raju].

Flirting with these newgen private sector Banks is very costly, risky and hazardous. Think it over. Switch over to some PSU Bank, Boss.

    Take care.

  4. Dear Friends,

I am also a sufferer from ICICI Bank. On 12th May 2009 they charged me Rs.1406 stating multi city usage charges. I do not know about this kind of charges at all. The bank has issued me a “Payable at Par” cheque book during Nov.2006. I never asked them for that kind of cheque book. I do not know about such kind of charges. ICICI bank is looting their customers with back door charges. No.1 cheater.

  7. Hi All,

ICICI is a completely careless in dealing with it Customer Issues. Since last Sunday my ICICI Account is wrongly debited with Rs.24,000/- and they are saying it will take 15 days to update this issue.

I am not sure even after update I will be able to receive my money back or not. I suggest all you valuable customers over here to transfer your huge amount to some Government Bank though they take time in services but atleast our hard earned money is safe over there.

    Thanks,
    Manu
