Mozilla foundation says there has been 8.3 million downloads of the Firefox browser in a 24-hour period.  Mozilla CEO John Lilly posted in his blog about the interesting information on the first day of the browser release.

People in around 200 different countries have downloaded, with 16 countries north of 100k copies.
83 terabytes served in total in the 24 hours.
