Firefox 3 Releases On June 17

The most anticipated version Firefox is released on coming Tuesday, June 17. The Mozilla foundation has set an world record when the latest stable release Firefox 3 is available.

“After more than 34 months of active development, and with the contributions of thousands, we’re proud to announce that we’re ready,” Mike Beltzner said at Mozilla Developer Center. Mozilla listed the salient changes from Firefox 2 to 3 among its over 15,000 improvements, which included speed, memory usage, and reliability tweaks in the forthcoming release.

Once it’s available, Mozilla hopes to set a world record with the most downloads in 24 hours when June 17 arrives. Currently, over a million people have pledged to grab a copy of Firefox 3 on the 17th.
