Airtel also follows Vodafone On Pricing iPhone 3G In India
Though airtel announces the price of Apple iPhone 3G in India after the Vodafone, the price remains the same.

- 16GB (White & Black) for Rs. 36100
It clearly indicates that both Airtel and Vodafone do not want to compete with each other on sales- Your customers for you and Mine for me basis 
How ever, the only difference is Airtel charges only Rs 5000 for booking your piece where Rs 10, 000 for Vodafone.
In this announcement, airtel clearly given that there is no 3G network availble in India. Also the Iphone is locked with Airtel Network and you cannot use with any other sim other than aitel. So iPhone is not going to catch the Indian Market as anticipated. Letz see how much sales Airtel & Vodafone makes on the first two days. If they reveal the number of peoples prebooked the Iphone (Interested to purchase according to their terms) at their website/sms/wap site with the number of actual sales on the first day, then it will show the fact.
